By any reasonable measure, the Titleist Pro V1 is the #1 ball in golf. Individually, it’s the best-selling ball at retail and it, along with the Pro V1x, is the most played ball on the PGA Tour. As it happens, it’s also now the top-ranked ball in Ball Lab.
The higher price and compression rating make the Pro V1 suited to better players. Most beginners will get better performance with lower compression and lower spinning balls.
- Super Mint (5A+) This ball is as close to a new ball as you can get, it may have player markings but will have no scuffs or scratches.
- Mint (5A) means the ball will look and feel similar to a new ball with the slightest blemish.
- Near-Mint (4A) just missed the cut for mint and will have no more than two blemishes and is in very good condition.
- Good (3A) will look and feel similar to a ball that has been played a couple of holes, the shine and colour of the balls may slightly vary, but the integrity of the flight characteristic is not compromised at all.
- Practice (2A) a great value for money option to practice with, will look similar to the balls on a driving range.
